This site keeps it simple. TAPECUT only stores what's strictly necessary to run the service: the audio clips people publish, like/dislike counts, and — on your own device — which clips you've already voted on, so you can't vote twice. There are no tracking cookies, no analytics, and no ads. See for details.
Privacy & Cookies
Last updated: 2026. This notice explains what TAPECUT stores and why, in line with the GDPR and the EU ePrivacy rules on cookies and similar storage technologies.
No tracking cookies
TAPECUT does not use advertising, analytics, or third‑party tracking cookies. There is no cross‑site tracking and no user profiling.
Strictly necessary storage we use
Public clips: the audio, title, and like/dislike counts you or others publish — visible to every visitor, since that's the whole point of the app.
Your vote record: your vote choice is kept on your device, while a random anonymous voter identifier is stored with the vote in the database so the app can prevent duplicate votes.
Consent flag: a small marker on your device recording that you've seen this banner, so it doesn't reappear every visit.
None of this is used for advertising or shared with third parties for marketing. Because this storage is strictly necessary for the service to function, it does not require opt‑in consent under ePrivacy — but you're always free to clear it below.
What we don't collect
No accounts, no names, no email addresses, and no device fingerprinting. Voting uses a random browser identifier and is not tied to an account or name.
Your rights (GDPR)
Since content is published anonymously, we can't verify or manage individual data subject requests for uploaded clips — you can remove your own local vote history at any time using the button below. If you uploaded a clip and want it taken down, use the copyright/takedown contact in Terms & Copyright.
Clear your local data
This deletes your vote history and consent flag from this device only. Published clips are not affected.
Terms & Copyright
TAPECUT is a free, open listening board. There are no user accounts and no moderators reviewing uploads before they go live.
Your responsibility when you publish
By publishing a clip you confirm you hold the copyright, or another sufficient right, to that audio and to share it publicly. You are solely and fully responsible for anything you upload, including compliance with applicable copyright and intellectual property law (e.g. the EU Copyright Directive).
Copyright complaints & takedowns
If you believe a published clip infringes your rights, contact us with the clip's title, an approximate timestamp of when it was published, and a description of your rights in the work. Clips subject to a credible complaint will be removed.
No warranty
TAPECUT is provided free of charge, as-is, with no guarantee of availability, and content may be removed at any time without notice.
